Ambassadorial-level Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter - PoW 2023 & PGA

The Ambassadors of the Member States to the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter met on 08 February 2023, at the Headquarters of the United Nations, in order to consider and adopt the 2023 Programme of Work, as well as other issues of common interest and concern. They also seized the opportunity to make an assessment of the work carried throughout 2022 and that to be carried out during the upcoming year, while determined to redoubling their joint efforts to ensure the preservation, promotion and defense of both the prevalence and validity of the Charter of the United Nations, both in its letter and spirit. The meeting was also attended by the President of the General Assembly for its 77th Session, H.E. Mr. Csaba Kőrösi, with whom they engaged in an interactive dialogue in other to compare notes and exchange views on their main priorities for 2023, especially with regards to the multiple ongoing intergovernmental processes within the framework of the UN General Assembly.
